Blue Canoe Philanthropy offers fundraising consulting services to the non-profit sector. We specialize in storytelling, cases for support, copywriting, direct marketing, legacy giving, audits, strategic planning, and coaching.

Leah is the founder of Blue Canoe. She's a third generation fundraiser who has raised 100s of millions of dollars during her award-winning career. Leah is an AFP Master Trainer, a Stability Leader and holds a Certificate in Philanthropic Psychology (Distinction) through the Institute for Sustainable Philanthropy. These days, Leah acts as an occasional consultant with select Blue Canoe clients.

Laura joined Blue Canoe Philanthropy as a senior associate in July 2020. Before this, she served as a development practitioner, most recently as the chief development officer of an educational nonprofit in New York City. She has worked in the nonprofit sector since 2005 for causes including mental health, religion, global relief, healthcare, youth advocacy, and education. Her professional career also includes over 25 years in private sector advertising, corporate communications, healthcare sales, marketing, and training.

Jeff was the art director for Ottawa Magazine for over a decade, and has been the graphic designer for many custom publications. He's done work for Ottawa Tourism, The National Arts Centre, National Gallery, United Nations and University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation, amongst others. Jeff attended Algonquin College and received a diploma for the Commercial Arts program. He also completed courses in the History of Fine Arts at the University of Ottawa.
